Water Action Agenda Symposium

IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, in cooperation with the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, is organizing a Water Action Agenda Symposium on 24 April 2024 to drive progress in the implementation of commitments made at the UN 2023 Water Conference.

The Water Action Agenda, a key result of the UN 2023 Water Conference, includes over 830 voluntary commitments from the international water community to accelerate efforts toward Sustainable Development Goal 6, which calls for universal water and sanitation access by 2030.

The symposium will bring together water and sanitation sector professionals to reflect on the progress of the agenda's implementation, share experiences and perspectives, and promote next steps. High-level speakers include:
 

  • Eddy Moors, Rector, IHE Delft
  • René van Hell, Director, Inclusive Green Growth Department, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • Madhushree Chatterjee, Chief, UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs
  • Angelo Imperiale, Researcher, IHE Delft
  • Sareen Malik, Executive Secretary, African Civil Society Network for Water and Sanitation
  • Kala Vairavamoorthy, Executive Director, International Water Association


The symposium will be held on 24 April 2024 from 13:00-18:00 CET. The event will be moderated by two young water professionals and IHE Delft alumni, Rewa Assi and Mila Avellar Montezuma.
